Mount Saint Mary College has announced a suite of graduate-level continuing education offerings designed to help New York State teachers and teaching assistants fulfill state maintenance requirements, move up the salary scale, and advance their professional expertise.
As an approved CTLE provider through the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Mount Saint Mary College offers courses through its Division of Education (SASE) that satisfy the state requirement for certified teachers to complete 100 hours of CTLE credits every five years.
Teachers can increase their salary by completing CTLE credits.
Key program highlights include:
- Affordable pricing: Courses are offered at a competitive rate of $600 per course.
- Flexible eight-week formats: Accelerated eight-week sessions are delivered online (asynchronous) or in hybrid formats held during evenings and weekends to accommodate working educators’ schedules.
- Micro-credentials: Educators have opportunities to earn micro-credentials or build customized micro-credential certificates.
The schedule features coursework across specialized tracks designed to meet critical professional development needs, including Students with Disabilities, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Science of Literacy (Elementary and Middle/High School tracks), Gifted and Talented Education, and Differentiated Instruction.
Course offerings cover key area competencies such as foundations of special education, multilingual learner instruction, emergent literacy, diagnostic evaluation, and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
