Great friends, new challenges, and personable professors made for an excellent first week of classes at Mount Saint Mary College, starting on Monday, August 24.

During the kickoff of the Fall 2026 semester, the mood on campus was positive: students, they said, were happy to be back at the Mount.

Mount students have much to look forward to outside of their academics in the coming weeks, including trivia nights, a club fair, and other exciting events.

Last weekend, the college welcomed hundreds of students to their residence halls, including freshmen, transfers, and returning students.

The incoming cohort marked a 29 percent increase in first-year enrollment compared to last year, contributing to an overall 25 percent surge in on-campus residents.

The college also saw a dramatic 48 percent increase in adult and transfer students compared to last year, marking a five-year high for that demographic.

The widespread momentum pushes the total traditional undergraduate and graduate enrollment to more than 1,400 students. This is in addition to nearly 2,000 learners in the Knight Program, where local high school students earn college credits.
