The artwork of Anne-Marie Uebbing, associate professor of Nursing at Mount Saint Mary College, is being featured in the latest exhibition at the Tivoli Artists Gallery, “The Language of Black & White: Monochrome Works.”

The installation will be on display through February 8. Tivoli Artists Gallery is located at 60 Broadway, Tivoli, N.Y.

Uebbing is one of more than two dozen regional artists taking part in the exhibition, which explores light, shadow, texture, and emotion through the timeless medium of black and white.

At the Mount, Uebbing is known for her dedication to the next generation of nurse practitioners – and her devotion to art is just as strong.

“Focusing on a passion is a way to keep yourself a whole person,” she explained. “We’re all given a gift, and if you don’t recognize it, and accept it, and act on it, you’re robbing yourself of some essential reward that life can give you.”

Uebbing’s artistic process involves scavenging for found objects, such as weathered wood, architectural remnants, and industrial scraps, which she then meticulously arranges into balanced, geometric compositions.

Her works on display at the Tivoli Artists Gallery showcase her signature style: a play of light, shadow, and texture that invites the viewer to find order in the abstract.

Located 60 miles north of New York City, Mount Saint Mary College is a top-tier liberal arts institution known for its clinical excellence and community-focused mission. The college encourages a holistic approach to education, supporting faculty like Uebbing who bridge the gap between professional expertise and creative expression.
