Mount Saint Mary College’s 48th Annual Golf and Tennis Invitational Tournament on Monday, June 1 raised nearly $147,000 for scholarships.

It was one of the most successful tournaments in the event’s history.

Dozens of friends of the college came out to support the Mount, with nearly 200 golf and tennis players participating throughout the day.

Held at the historic Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y., the event honored two prominent regional leaders for their commitment to the Hudson Valley community: Jeffrey Crist, Owner and Operator of Crist Bros Orchards, Inc.; and Anthony Campagiorni, Esq., Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.

Campagiorni is a dedicated advocate for the region. His leadership in public affairs has helped strengthen community partnerships and advance initiatives that support the Hudson Valley's future.

Crist's commitment to innovation, agriculture, and multi-generational family business values reflects the grit, stewardship, and service that help define the Hudson Valley.

Morning golfers kicked off the day with an 8 a.m. shotgun start in a scramble format, followed by an afternoon round at 1 p.m. The Tennis Invitational took to the club’s courts at 2 p.m., featuring players dressed in traditional tennis whites. In addition to the athletic competitions, attendees enjoyed a buffet lunch and concluded the day with a celebratory evening reception.

Net proceeds from the tournament will support Mount Saint Mary College scholarship funds. Scholarships provide critical financial assistance to academically talented students with financial need, ensuring the next generation of Knights can pursue their education and enter the regional workforce with confidence. For them, this isn’t just higher education, it’s the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

Golfers kept their scores low and the excitement high during Mount Saint Mary College’s 48th Annual Golf and Tennis Invitational Tournament on Monday, June 1.

“Scholarships change lives,” said Khurana-Baugh. “This incredible outpouring of support from our sponsors, alumni, trustees, and community partners helps ensure that talented students have access to the opportunities and experiences that a Mount education provides.”

At the Mount, more than one-third of Mount students are first-generation college students, and nearly 90 percent receive some form of financial assistance.
