Jack Santaroni (left), a Senior Security Consultant at Unit 42 by Palo Alto Networks, and Sean Jennings a Cybersecurity Analyst at Central Hudson Gas & Electric, are two of the three panelists set to speak Mount Saint Mary College on Thursday, October 15.

 

In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Center for Cybersecurity at Mount Saint Mary College will host a public panel session titled “A Day in the Life of a Cybersecurity Professional” on Thursday, October 15 at 4 p.m.  

The free presentation will take place on campus in Aquinas Hall, Room 055. The college is located at 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh, N.Y.

The panel brings together three seasoned industry leaders and Mount alumni to explore real-world challenges, career pathways, and the day-to-day realities of protecting digital infrastructure.

Jack Santaroni is a Senior Security Consultant at Unit 42 by Palo Alto Networks with more than eight years of field experience. Santaroni began his military service as an Information Assurance Specialist in the Air National Guard before earning his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity from the Mount. He also earned a master’s in Information Security Operations from Champlain College.

Jonah Goverman is a Senior Offensive Security Consultant at Unit 42 by Palo Alto Networks. Goverman brings more than five years of consulting expertise and more than 11 years of service in the Air National Guard, where he serves as a Cyber Systems Operations Apprentice. He holds a master’s degree in Information Security Operations from Champlain College.

Sean Jennings is a Cybersecurity Analyst at Central Hudson Gas & Electric and member of the Wing Cybersecurity Office at the Stewart Airlift Wing in the Air National Guard. Jennings graduated from the Mount’s IT program in 2017. He founded the Byte Knights IT Club and captained the men’s lacrosse team. He holds a master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Fordham University along with industry credentials including Sec+, CRISC, CISSP, GCIH, and GICSP certifications.

Housed within the college’s Division of Mathematics, Media, and Computing Sciences, the Center aims to foster digital safety and highlight career opportunities in this critical industry.
