Mount Saint Mary College welcomed prospective student-athletes, transfer candidates, alumni, and families to campus on Saturday, September 19, for its annual Fall Athletic BBQ and Preview Day.
The event paired an in-depth look at collegiate athletics with home competitions, campus tours, and admissions workshops and showcased the NCAA Division III student-athlete experience.
The morning opened with informational sessions highlighting the balance between competitive varsity athletics and the Mount’s undergraduate degree offerings in fields such as nursing, business, education, the humanities, and the sciences.
Visiting recruits met directly with Knights coaches and current student-athletes to discuss team culture, training regimens, and expectations. Families also connected with admissions and financial aid counselors to review merit-based scholarship opportunities, recruiting timelines, and enrollment steps – including the college’s $1,000 Visit Grant awarded to eligible incoming first-year attendees.
Guided tours provided attendees an inside look at residence halls, academic facilities, and varsity athletic venues. The day concluded with a community barbecue where prospective recruits and their families joined returning alumni, faculty, and current students to cheer on the Knights during scheduled home athletic contests.
The Mount is a private, coeducational institution in Newburgh, N.Y., offering high-demand undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The Mount fields 19 varsity athletic programs competing in NCAA Division III as members of the Skyline Conference.
