Mount Saint Mary College

In keeping with the longstanding tradition, Mount Saint Mary College ended Spirit Week in style with its Annual Bonfire on Friday, October 24.

The fire warmed the students’ spirits as they enjoyed fall foods and games like pie-a-professor. The event included a performance from the college’s cheerleading team, among other entertainment.

The college kicked off Spirit Week with Founders Day, a celebration of the Dominican Sisters of Hope who founded Mount Saint Mary College more than 65 years ago. After a keynote talk by Joshua Hochschild, a professor of Philosophy at Mount St. Mary’s University, the MSMC’s Catholic and Dominican Institute honored the Dominican Sisters and beloved professor emeritus of History, John Reilly, who passed away recently.

On Thursday, October 23, Mount undergrads competed against each other to take home the Mount Olympics trophy – and the bragging rights that go along with it. This year, the seniors were victorious.

Also during Spirit Week, students enjoyed a powderpuff football game, a Bingo game with great prizes, and more.
