Victorious seniors celebrate holding the coveted Mount Olympics trophy after proving they had the winning formula in the battle of the classes.
Mount Saint Mary College’s Senior Class has officially been etched in the college’s history, claiming the coveted trophy at the annual Mount Olympics on Thursday, October 22.
Forget your average, pencil-and-paper final exam: The Mount Olympics is a yearly test of school spirit, a battle of the classes, and one of the flagship events of Spirit Week, where students celebrate their Mount pride through both tough competition and academic complementation.
This year’s Mount Olympics theme was holidays, with the seniors representing Halloween. The juniors wore Christmas attire, the sophomores took on St. Patrick’s Day, and the freshmen represented Valentine’s Day.
The atmosphere in the Kaplan Recreation Center was electric, with students throwing down in a high-octane mix of brains and brawn. Competitors showcased their comedic timing and collaborative genius in humorous skits, tested their agility and speed in relay races and a tug-a-war challenge, and more.
When the dust settled, it was the seniors who proved they had the winning formula.
In keeping with tradition, the college finished Spirit Week with the Annual Bonfire on Friday, October 23. It was the perfect way for the entire Mount Saint Mary College community to cap off another great Spirit Week.
