Short answer: YES!

Long answer: Attending a college’s Open House is one of the most important steps to take while you’re looking for the place you’ll call home for the next four years. A college can look like the right fit for you on a postcard, by looking at their website, or in social media posts, but experiencing it in person is where you can truly immerse yourself in campus life.

At Mount Saint Mary College, Open Houses are our largest Admissions events of the year! From engaging with our vibrant campus community to exploring all the Mount has to offer, Open House is the best opportunity to see for yourself why students have chosen to live, learn, and grow at the Mount for more than 65 years.

Here’s what you can expect at our Open House:

  • Taste of college life: It is the most important meal of the day, so we start off all of our Open Houses with breakfast to fuel up for the fun day ahead! Breakfast is served in our main dining hall on campus, The View, so you start off your time at the Mount literally getting a taste of college life.

  • Engage with our vibrant campus community: Open House is your chance to connect with your future professors and discover our student support offices. Have questions about your major or future career goals? Curious about study abroad opportunities? Wondering what student support services are offered? You can get the answer to all of these questions and more at the Academic & Campus Life Fair.

  • Mingle with current students: They were in your shoes not too long ago, so what better way to get a feel for student life than speaking with current students. They know all of the best dining hall secret food options, best study spots, and can talk to you about their favorite clubs and activities outside of the classroom. And best of all, you may be classmates with them next fall! So you’re already making connections just by attending Open House.

  • Learn about the admissions process and affordability: If we had to guess, two of your questions about the Mount are “How do I apply?” and “How much is it going to cost?” That’s why our Admissions Counselors and Student Financial Services team will be sharing information about the admissions process, what they look for in applicants, scholarships and grants, the FAFSA, and more. Plus, first-year students who attend Open House and become a Knight next fall, automatically receive a $1,000 Visit Grant - talk about keeping the Mount affordable!

  • Explore our campus, aka your new home: You’ve heard all about life at the Mount, now it’s time to see it first-hand. You’ll be taken on a guided walking tour of our campus during peak fall season with one of our awesome student ambassadors. Tours will include stepping inside academic buildings, Sakac Hall - our first-year residence hall, the library, and more! Pro tip: Make sure to check out our state-of-the-art Nursing simulation labs and our new cutting-edge Finance Investment Lab!

  • Rock your Mount pride: No Mount Open House is complete without a free t-shirt! Rock your Mount pride by picking up a specially designed Mount t-shirt only for Open House attendees! Want more? Our Campus Store in Aquinas Hall will be open and you can find all sorts of Mount merch for the whole family!
