
Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. and St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. are pleased to announce a new, seamless pathway for qualified students to pursue a Master of Science in Exercise Science.
This new articulation agreement guarantees admission for a limited number of qualified Mount students into St. Thomas’s Master of Science in Exercise Science program. To be eligible for automatic admission, Mount students must complete an undergraduate degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Students graduating with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 will receive a 15 percent discount on all future credits in the graduate program.
The agreement is primarily designed for Exercise Science majors at the Mount, but it’s also open to students from other majors who have successfully completed the prerequisite courses, including Anatomy and Physiology I and II (lecture and lab), Exercise Physiology, Statistics, one 200-level or higher Exercise Science-related class, and Psychology.
The Mount’s Exercise Science major immerses undergraduate students in the workings of the body, its needs under physical and emotional stress, and how these factors affect life. Graduates of the program are primed for careers in health and wellness, such as nutrition, public health, health education, and fitness. They are also ready to begin graduate studies in athletic training, physical or occupational therapy, and more.
