Outstanding Mount Saint Mary College students studying Biology, Psychology, or Exercise Science can now apply for early acceptance into Dominican University New York’s acclaimed Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

 Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. and Dominican University New York (DUNY) in Rockland County are proud to announce an early acceptance agreement where aspiring physical therapists can begin their academic journey at the Mount, and upon graduation with a bachelor’s degree, advance directly into the acclaimed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at DUNY.

Mount students with an excellent academic performance can apply for acceptance to matriculate to DUNY before finishing their undergraduate work. The Department of Physical Therapy at DUNY enjoys a wide diversity in the academic and life experiences that students bring to the DPT program. Mount applicants to this program should be undergraduate majors in Biology, Psychology, or Exercise Science. They must also have:

  • Completed an application on PTCAS.org
  • Completed the prerequisites, found here: msmc.edu/programs/pre-health-professions
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate courses
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in all prerequisite courses
  • 60 hours in a physical therapy office
  • Three letters of recommendation, written by former instructors or current physical therapists for whom they have volunteered or shadowed.
