Neither snow nor sleet could stop the Mount Saint Mary College community from spreading holiday joy last week, as faculty and staff gathered to write more than 1,400 Christmas cards to the college’s accepted students.

Hosted by the Office of Admissions, the second annual card-writing party took place in Guzman Hall on December 2 and 3.

Despite impending winter weather cutting the first day short, the campus community rallied to complete the massive task. Dozens of volunteers from various departments stopped by to pen personal notes, welcoming the next generation of Mount students and wishing them a festive holiday season.

“We are grateful for the time you dedicated to assist our office,” said Paige Olscamp, Associate Director of Admissions, “and help spread some holiday and MSMC spirit.”

The event has quickly become a favorite holiday tradition on campus, offering faculty and staff a chance to connect personally with prospective students before they even step foot in the classroom.

Located 60 miles north of New York City, Mount Saint Mary College is a private, liberal arts college dedicated to academic excellence and the development of the whole person.
