If you're thinking about returning to school to earn your bachelor's degree, you're in good company. Thousands of working adults go back to school each year to start or complete their degrees. That's why we developed the MSMC Adult Degree Program with the working adult in mind.
With small class sizes; online, hybrid, and evening class options; discounted tuition; and more, you'll have the flexibility to pursue your degree while continuing full-time employment, family responsibilities, and other pursuits. Consisting of seven in-demand majors, the Adult Degree Program follows the same course structure as our traditional students, just at a different pace. MSMC is committed to providing a welcoming environment for any student, and our staff is ready and willing to work with you to ensure a quick and easy transition.
Apply using the Transfer/Degree Completion application, then select if you wish to apply to the traditional Transfer program or the Adult Degree Program. The Adult Degree program is designed for students who want to complete their bachelor's degree on a flexible schedule, including first-time adult learners over the age of 18 who have not previously attended college.

Application requirements: Completed application, official high school transcript (if you have under 24 college credits), and official transcripts from each college you've attended.
GPA requirement: 2.0+ (2.75 for Nursing)

Frequently Asked Questions
The Adult Degree program is open to those who want to complete their bachelor's degree on their own schedule, including first-time adult degree seekers over the age of 18 who have never attended college.
Students who select the Adult Degree Program cannot switch into the traditional day-time program. If you wish to take traditional classes, consider applying as a traditional undergraduate or transfer student.
Scholarships and institutional aid are not offered for degree seekers in the Adult Degree Program. Students receive discounted tuition and are eligible for state and federal aid.
Yes, we accept up to 90 credits from 4-year institutions and up to 66-credits from 2-year institutions.
Yes, all students will complete the core curriculum of general education courses. These courses are offered online or at night. Students may also transfer these credits from prior institutions. Students with a degree from a SUNY institution will have completed most of the general education requirements.

Every student's situation is unique. Depending on how many college credits they took prior, some students may finish in as little as 5 semesters, while some may take longer. The benefit of the Adult Degree Program is that you can complete your degree at your own pace.
If it has been more than two semester since you last took classes at the Mount, you will need to reapply. However, all of your prior coursework will count toward your degree.
