Mount Saint Mary College will be hosting the 19th Annual Chris Ashman Wellness and Recovery Conference on Thursday, November 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The conference is open to the public and the cost is $15 per person, which includes breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The event will be held in Hudson Hall on campus. The Mount is located at 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh, N.Y. Register at www.MyIndependentLiving.org/wellness-conference

The conference was made possible through a partnership of Independent Living, Inc., the Mount’s Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness, and Rehabilitation Support Services (RSS).

This year’s conference will consist of panel discussions and presentations related to the theme of “Employment: The Pathway to Wellness and Recovery.” The keynote speakers will be Andy Sink, director of New York Employment Services System (NYESS) Employment Policy at the New York State Office of Mental Health; and Joe Marrone, retired Senior Program Manager for Public Policy at the Institute for Community Inclusion at The University of Massachusetts Boston.

The conference is recommended for executive level staff, mental health professionals, individuals receiving services, healthcare professionals, case managers, care coordinators, advocates and policy planners, and more.
