Mount Saint Mary College is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership with Teach For America, Inc. (TFA) aimed at supporting the professional and academic advancement of future educational leaders.
Through this multi-year agreement, the Mount serves as an official university partner to support TFA corps members and alumni seeking advanced education credentials. In turn, TFA will actively promote the Mount’s specialized graduate programs across its national network, featuring the college on the TFA Alumni Hub and designated career advancement platforms.
The partnership specifically extends exclusive benefits to TFA network members enrolling in the following Mount graduate offerings: MSEd in Literacy Education, MSEd in Special Education, MSEd Middle School Extension, and Advanced Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
To reduce barriers to enrollment and empower these dedicated educators, the Mount is offering a suite of tailored incentives for TFA candidates, including a 20 percent tuition discount on published rates for fall and spring semesters and generous credit transfers, allowing incoming students to transfer up to six master’s-level credits from other institutions.
“This partnership perfectly aligns with our Dominican tradition of academic rigor and service to the community,” said Evan Merkhofer, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Mount. “Teach For America brings exceptional, mission-driven educators into the field, and we are thrilled to provide them with the advanced training and financial incentives they deserve as they cultivate moral character and intellectual achievement in today's classrooms.”
TFA is widely recognized for recruiting outstanding college graduates to commit to teaching in urban and rural public schools, providing the critical training and ongoing support necessary to eliminate educational inequity in low-income communities. This collaboration leverages the unique strengths of both organizations to build long-term leadership development pathways in graduate education.
