Gori, who was raised as a Christian, wanted to join the Catholic faith for the benefit of both herself and her family. She and her husband, Lido Gori, married in 2014 and now have two children who have been baptized in the Catholic faith.

"I always felt like an 'adopted Catholic,' but after my first child was born, I knew it was time for me to make it official," Gori explained. She added," I also wanted to set a good example for my children, who will also one day be receiving these Sacraments."

As with many aspects of modern life, COVID-19 slowed Gori's progress. However, she resumed her journey as soon as it was safe to do so. Her patience paid off: in April of 2021, she celebrated First Communion, and in June, she was Confirmed.

Fr. Gregoire Fluet, chaplain and director of Campus Ministry at the Mount, was happy to help prepare Gori for reception of the sacraments.

"Fr. Greg is such a warm and inviting person, and he made me feel comforted and confident as I explored my faith," said Gori.  "I always knew I wanted to solidify my faith, but I was never sure where to start. From the moment I sent Fr. Greg the first email requesting his guidance, he was so kind and supportive. If you desire to explore your faith but are not sure where to begin, just reach out to Fr. Greg – he will always greet you with a smile and great advice!"
