In response to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Orange County, and the confirmation of six new cases on campus within the last two weeks, the Mount is shifting to online classes for two weeks beginning at 8 p.m. tonight. Residence halls will remain open.

The Mount community has done an excellent job being proactive in combating the spread of COVID-19, and the number of cases here is far below the New York state threshold of 100 that would force a mandatory move online. The decision to pause on-campus classes has been made out of an abundance of caution to protect the Mount community and prevent the spread of the virus.

Contact tracing is being carried out for the most recently-confirmed COVID-19 cases and anyone affected will be contacted directly.
