Mount Saint Mary College hosted a blood drive in the Fluet Family Auditorium at Hudson Hall on Tuesday, April 27, which resulted in 41 pints of blood collected.

Each semester, students, faculty, and staff donate to the Mount's blood drive. The college's Student Nurses' Association planned the event and were among those assisting, along with medical professionals from the New York Blood Center.

Senior Sydney Natkiel of Salisbury Mills, N.Y., president of the Student Nurses' Association of Mount Saint Mary College, was pleased with the Mount community's support of the event.

"It's important to spread awareness of the importance of donating blood, and to also provide opportunities for the Mount Saint Mary College community to donate," she said. "One pint of blood can save up to three people's lives! Now more than ever in the time of COVID, it's especially important to take the time to donate life."
