Mount Saint Mary College students, staff, and faculty enjoyed making poetry out of newspapers at the recent "In the News" workshop on campus.

Participants used existing publications as a springboard for their personal expression in this unique event, which is one of four in the "Find Your Voice" series. Other workshops in the series will include "In the Woods," "In the Studio," and "At the Mic."

The Writing Center sponsors a variety of events for students throughout the year. The center's tutors assist Mount students in all stages of the writing process, including brainstorming and organizing ideas; structuring sentences, paragraphs, and essays; strengthening argumentation; incorporating research; appropriate systems of citation; and improving grammar and style.

The Exercise Science major immerses students in the workings of the body, its needs under physical and emotional stress, and how these factors affect life. Coursework includes training in exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and injury prevention.
