Let’s talk about faith. Where did the knowledge and study of God come from? What impact does it have on the world? What are the beliefs of Catholicism? The Religious Studies minor at the Mount offers students the opportunity to have open, real conversations about theology, culture, history, diverse issues within the field, and their place in the world.

The study of Criminology doesn’t just mean studying law and crime. Rather, this major looks at crime from a holistic perspective, considering its impact on the victim, the criminal, and society as a whole. As a Criminology major, you’ll focus not on the facts of crime, but rather the people it affects, and develop the tools to help them.

Registered nurses who also hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing are more likely to receive promotions and higher salaries based on their education and can advance to graduate level studies in the field. If you’re a registered nurse who would like to earn your degree, the RN to BS program at the Mount can be the path to fulfilling that goal.

Can’t decide between our awesome majors in Psychology, Sociology, and History? Well, you don’t have to: our Social Sciences major combines all three!

Sociology is the study of human interactions, relationships, and society. Sociology majors are people-watchers with a purpose: that of learning about human behavior in order to better help others.

Being a team player starts with understanding the psychological principles behind performance and well-being in athletes, and other sports participants, at all levels. 

The sound of a whistle brings you right back to the game you love. The smell of hot dogs floods your brain with memories of going to games with family. Now, you want to be a part of creating those opportunities for others by making a career out of your passion for sports. Like any other industry, sports is a business and needs managing. The study of Sports Management allows you to combine your passion for sports and athletics with the operational and management experience needed to help them thrive.

Many school districts in New York are adding specially designed instruction for Multilingual Learner students, and certification in TESOL is required in order to teach in those programs. This 5-course program is designed to provide certified teachers and administrators with a solid background and expertise in serving the needs of Multilingual Learners.  

If the question “What do you want to major in?” makes you break into a cold sweat, you can breathe - we’re not going to ask you that dreaded question. Many high school seniors do not know what they want to do with the rest of their lives, and that’s okay. Students in the Mount’s pre-professional program work closely with a mentor on campus to use their studies to prepare for professional school as veterinarians.
